01 May Meet The Artist: Spencer Albright
Spring is upon us and that means skipping the iced tea and going straight for frozen beverages because its barely May and our thermometers are screaming over 100. One of our favorite rituals at Urban Eyecare is meeting amazing artists throughout the Valley and country. It has been an absolute blast to be able to support one of their most important organs – their eyes. This will mark our fourth run on our artist edition lens cloths, limited to just 500 pieces. Without further ado, it is my honor to present Spencer Albright!
Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born in California, but when I was 12 years old I moved to Canada with my parents and was there up until 2014 when I moved to Arizona.
Where do you live?
Phoenix, AZ. The wild west.
What is your primary artistic medium?
Mostly pencil and ink on paper, starting to explore more digital mediums though. It’s a whole different world when going digital haha.
What’s your favorite taco spot?
I honestly don’t know if I have a favorite. I just went to Taco Chelo for the first time which was a really cool spot. I also recently tried the Cauliflower Tacos from The Coronado, which were amazing.
What glasses are you wearing?
Etnia Barcelona’s from their vintage collection. Love these glasses, big thanks to Urban Eyecare!
Do you have any pets?
Just my cat, Watson. He’s great company, wish he could help with the rent though.
Where’s your favorite spot to hunker down and get work done?
My go-to is Lux Central or The Grand. Recently I’ve also been going over to Press Coffee on 32nd and Shea.
