28 Oct Howllll-0-Weeekend and DRY EYES (Scary!)
Its finally cool enough to throw on your shades and hang out side, sipping a cup of coffee at Lola’s with your pupper or a boozy brunch on the patio at Snooze. We’ve been precipitously preparing for the end of year as its one of our busiest seasons of the year. We’ve been adding stock and even a new brand to expand our ever changing collection. We are proud to introduce Thierry Lasry optical collection – hand made in France. Milled from solid blocks of titanium in both chunky and modern shapes. 10mm block acetate, lamination, triple barrel hinges – these are sure to delight in both comfort, style, and being absolutely bulletproof for years to come.
As we grow we are able to increase our opportunities to give back to the community. We are proud to sponsor the Roosevelt Neighborhood Home Tour and Phoestivus. The home tour sponsorship helps to fund events within the Roosevelt neighborhood throughout the year, including ice cream socials and luminarias. Phoestivus helps to support Community Food Connections, a non-profit charity working to alleviate hunger and create food self-sufficiency for low income households. Being able to give back is truly one of the most rewarding parts of owning a practice and being part of our downtown community.
We’re always exploring new products and services to expand our treatment possibilities. The issue we find plagues many of our patients is dry eye and dry eye related complications. We will continue to offer a wide variety of artificial tears, lid cleansing products, and Bruder heat compresses. This fall we will begin offering Nordic Naturals fish oil. This brand offers Omega3 products in their natural triglyceride form which greatly increase bioavailability (and overall absorption)! What does this all mean for you? It means we are continually combing through the latest literature, research articles, and eyecare related forums to see what’s new, what’s working, and what direction to take to provide our patients with the highest level of care.
It’s an exciting time for myself. About three weeks ago I had the chance to go to Portland with a group of friends to explore city. Lots of restaurants and bars, walking, scooters, and only one scooter wreck! The weather was great – just the right amount of night time cool and daytime sunshine to make for the perfect weekend. The following weekend we made our way to NYC to celebrate Emily’s Bridal shower. We stayed in the Garment district, fairly far from where we usually stay on the LES to put us in better proximity to Hoboken, where the shower was taking place. We spent Saturday walking central park, admiring the views and the tiny swatch of nature in the middle of the big city. The musicians scattered throughout the park really made a great day perfect. We’re counting the days to our wedding, a little less than two weeks away. Our hearts are full of love and gratitude for all those around us that make our dreams possible.
Thank you all,
Dr. K
